Third Generation Partnership Project
A grouping of regional standards
bodies that develops the technical standards which underpin
GSM-based mobile communications. 3GPP works on standards
both at the radio signalling layers and above, including
standards such as IMS and Online Charging. A similar
organisation called 3GPP2 works on the standardization
of mobile communications based around cdma2000.
