IP-based Television (IPTV)
Television programming or video
delivered to a consumer over an Internet connection,
typically broadband. Different to cable, satellite and
broadcast television in that only the program that the
consumer is watching is actually transmitted, thus conserving
bandwidth and allowing for features like interactivity
and pause/rewind capabilities. Typically delivered through
a set-top box and viewed on a television set, which
makes it different to Internet TV which is programming
streamed or downloaded directly to a PC.
