Mediation
An application that traditionally
mediates between network elements and back-office systems,
insulating the back-office systems from the complexity
of the network. Mediation systems capture information
from the network and send it downstream to systems such
as data warehouses, network planning systems and billing
systems. Mediation processes the raw network information
by normalizing it, enriching it and creating output
using standardized formats.
