The OSS Rat Pack: Ten Companies to Watch

In the midst of the consolidation of Communication Service Providers (CSPs) and OSS/BSS vendors into larger and larger companies, there is a new breed of company making its presence felt in the CSP OSS/BSS market. These companies are not start-ups; they all have strong financials and established customers. They have also quietly defined a business model that embraces what Stratecast calls "the rat pack mentality". These companies share a number of characteristics with the original "rat pack" team of Hollywood actors in the mid-1950s of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford and Joey Bishop. Like it's namesake, this OSS/BSS vendor group contains solid performers who work well both individually and as an ensemble through partnerships to satisfy service provider needs. Some are strictly telecom companies, some have entered the telecom vertical from the enterprise market, but all are solid players with proven solutions.
