Smarter systems help operators make better business decisions

“Fergus O’reilly, chief technology officer at pricing and rating systems house Highdeal, says that operators need tools that can track revenues, partner costs and margins up to the minute. ‘A CFO needs the ability to look at today’s revenue and cash flow results and make changes tomorrow. But revenues are spread across complex service bundles and are recognized at different times under complex rules.’
Customer payments often happen independently of payments due to partners, he notes—and it can be hard to correlate internal costs with revenue generation. “Operators therefore need to link together their core pricing management, billing, payment, partner settlement and revenue recognition systems to provide a seamless view of their business operations and rapid reporting through BI trend analysis and key performance indicator tools,' says O’Reilly.”
