Asiapac: Polynesian Minister endorses
strategic partnership between Highdeal, IBM and ISS
Telecoms Minister, Emile Vernaudon, endorses
partnership between French Polynesian Postal and Telecoms Office
subsidiary (ISS), IBM and Highdeal in Paris.
Paris, June 14
2005 – The partnership
draws upon the three companies’ expertise to answer the
requirements for ongoing growth and deployment of new technologies
in the South Pacific. The partnership will focus on the integration,
migration and maintenance of IT systems as well as the deployment
of solutions for commercial and financial management systems.
The contract is symbolic of the French Polynesia’s interest to embrace
new technology, while representing the political will to assure ongoing development.
The agreement will promote the adoption of new technology while equipping the
local population with the know-how to encourage cost savings for financial
and commercial IT systems. The minister’s involvement is representative
of his ongoing dedication to endow the region with advanced Internet access
(cable, ADSL).
”As an
established player in the Polynesian market for more than 35
years, IBM’s traditional role as a software and hardware
provider has now evolved into providing professional services.
This agreement underlines the strategic positioning of the
three partners on billing projects, particularly for telecoms
operators, and depends upon the expertise of IBM in business
consulting services and Highdeal in billing, rating and pricing
for new emerging services” said Philippe Hedde,
IBM BCS West Region General Manager.
“ We are proud to be apart of this partnership,
which reinforces the strength of our software, Highdeal Transactive®. This
signature reinforces Highdeal’s leadership as a leader in pricing and billing.
Moreover, this partnership forges a strong relationship between IBM and ISS and
will help to enable Highdeal’s commercial expansion in the Pacific region,” said
Eric Pillevesse, Highdeal. CEO.
The minister Emile Vernaudon emphasized that "above
all the advantages for the three companies including ISS, this contract is
symbolic of the interest that French Polynesia has for embracing new technology
while representing the political will to assure the ongoing development of
this country. In effect, this contract will promote the adoption of new technology,
equipping the local population with know-how which will encourage cost savings
in terms of maintenance costs for financial and commercial IT systems.”
