Afone chooses Highdeal as the pricing,
rating and billing solution for its new telephony services

and Paris, February 14, 2006 – Highdeal, the
world’s leading provider of pricing and rating solutions,
announces that Afone, the business and professional’s telecom
provider, has chosen Highdeal Transactive® as the billing
solution for its complete telephony service package. The package
includes incoming call services, voice over IP, and traditional
telephony services.
Afone was seeking a solution that
would meet its fixed telephony requirements as well as evolving
services such as voice over
IP. As it had already successfully deployed Highdeal Transactive® for
its fixed-line pricing and rating offers, the company decided
to extend the solution’s functions to include its new VoIP
services.
The Afone IP service is based on the Thomsom IP Cirpack telephony
platform, so a key project specification was that the solution
be easy to integrate in the existing infrastructure. The Cirpack
switching system now handles VoIP subscriber calls, manages Centrex
IP operations, ensures long-distance communications with other
VoIP and RTC operators, and sends all usage data to the Highdeal
Transactive platform for the billing process.
The Afone VoIP offer includes two separate components. AfoneBox
is relevant for retail outlets and very small businesses, and
the Iperion offer, based on centrex IP, is more suitable for
larger businesses.
AfoneBox is a bundled offer, tailored to retailers basic needs:
telephony, electronic money (e-payment terminals), the Internet
and tele-security. AfoneBox is the only market offering that
can manage all telecom flows generated by retail sites via a
single unbundled IP/ADSL high-speed link. Highdeal Transactive
handles all aspects of the offer, including subscription, voice
over IP usage billing, and e-transaction pricing and rating.
It also ensures that revenue is appropriately shared between
Afone and its partners for certain call offers such as 0800 numbers.
Highdeal Transactive® was chosen
for its flexibility, rapid deployment and ability to effectively
manage all types of new
services. This last feature, in particular, was what brought
the new VoIP and Afone Box services to market so quickly.
