Selected as a Finalist for the World BSS Award
London, 22 May, 2008 – IIR announced this week that Highdeal, the world’s leading provider of Pricing and Rating solutions, is a finalist for the World BSS Award in the Innovation in Billing & Information Management category. The award recognises innovation and enhanced functionality in product/service offering, approach to market and/or business modeling or methodology.
The World BSS Awards help raise awareness of the significance of billing and information management systems and processes to the communications industry, identifying key trends and rewarding BSS best practice. They are widely regarded as the highest industry recognition of BSS excellence. Launched in 1997, this will be the 12th year that these important awards will be presented.
This is the 3rd year in a row that Highdeal has been selected as a finalist for a World BSS Award. Highdeal received the Most Innovative Billing Product award in 2006 and was a finalist for the Innovation in Billing & Information Management award in 2007.
“Without a doubt the world of BSS is spreading its wings, and a number of the nominated implementations reflect this.” said Hugh Roberts, Chairman of the Awards Judging Panel and Consultant Director for IIR’s BSS, OSS & RM events. “We are certainly seeing the impact of convergence on both the functional requirements for telecoms implementations, and on the opportunities for telecoms derived products to demonstrate their excellence in a wider context.
“However, convergence is also having an effect on the nature of implementations projects themselves.” continues Hugh Roberts. “The broader requirements of business transformation are beginning to subsume projects targeted at specific functionality enhancements, and as a result there has been a clear indication that the complexity of and interaction between what used to be discrete stovepipes is now being acknowledged with a greater sense of realism. The age of ‘joined up thinking’ is upon us! This doesn’t make our job of judging the submitted nominations any easier. Good luck to all the finalists – we still have plenty of deliberating to do to select the winners for 2008!”
The announcement of the winners will be made at the BIMS 2008 Gala Diamond Drinks Party in Amsterdam on the evening of Tuesday 10th June 2008.
